Day 18 – A picture of your favorite lolita style.

I think it’s safe to say that my favourite style is classic lolita. I love the elegance. I adore the more OTT classic styles, but I also love the toned down classic. Sometimes I like a very classical style, sometimes a more sweet classical style. Honestly though, I still love wearing sweet and gothic. I just don’t seem to wear them very much anymore.

I think the brands that reflect my favourite style best is Juliette et Justine and Innocent World.

Day 17 - What do you want more than anything right now?

More than anything, I want to have a tea party with my friends. I want to make lots of delicious cakes and canapés, with a selection of teas for people to choose from. Then we would all get together, and have a good chat and catch up while we ate and drank. Everyone would be dressed in their favourite frills. Afterwards we would change into our pajamas and watch some girly movies until the early hours of the morning. Then I’d make pancakes for breakfast, although it would be closer to lunch time by the time we’d woken up because we’d have stayed up so late.

Galaxy Uniform

I love this uniform, it’s so cute

Okay so I completely messed up with this 30 day lolita challenge, since I missed yesterday. So I decided to combine today’s with the one I missed yesterday!

Day 15 – A picture of your last lolita purchase.
My last purchase was Krad Lanrete’s Mozarabic Chant print in the long JSK. I already bought the short JSK in blue, and I just fell so completely in love with it that I just had to buy the grey version! I adore long dresses, I think they’re so elegant! But at 5’3”, I do worry that they will be too long on me. But since all the short JSKs were sold out, I just had to bite the bullet and go for the long version! I adore it so much.

Day 16 – Your outfit for the day.
My outfit today was… well, this morning it was pretty awful. I literally just threw on some jeans and a t-shirt and pulled my hair back into a ponytail. But the weather was so gorgeous, that when I got back home I changed into something much cuter. I wanted to wear my new Mozarabic Chant dress, and after seeing how gorgeous Rachel’s hat was when we met up the other day, I remembered my felt hat that I’ve never worn and decided there was no time like the present. I tried a more vintage style look, although I definitely think I haven’t got that down yet. Need to practice the make up more. My shoes are heels but it’s kind of hard to see.

I’m not sure what my absolute ultimate dream item would be, so here are a couple of my dream items.

Angelic Pretty’s Puppet Circus. I think this is a lot of lolitas’ dream item. For me, I think it will always be a dream because I can’t see myself paying that sort of money for just one piece. Maybe if it was a custom made item, like from 4 O’clock brand, but not for this one.
Angelic Pretty’s Royal Chocolate. I just really love the chocolate fabric!
Innocent World’s Grazia Crown. Because it reminds me of tapestries.
Juliette et Justine’s La Bibliotheque. Those sleeves and the little gather on the skirt… urrgh, I love it! It’s beautiful.

So my favourite sweets are Willy Wonka Nerds, but actually I’m allergic to them so I try to not eat them. They are so delicious though, totally worth it.

But I also really love Popin’ Cookin’. It doesn’t taste amazing but it’s just a lot of fun to make! Yay!

And that’s about it really! I don’t really eat sweets all that much (I swing through sugary phases) so there’s not many other choices for me haha. Although maybe pick&mix should be on there too, because that is always yum.

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I forgot a day! This is what happens when I have a Guild Wars 2 day. I forget to do everything else. So…. yeah, two posts today, annoyingly. I’ll do this one now and today’s proper one when I get back from work.

Anyway, enjoy these pictures of me from before I got into lolita! I tried to find some funny ones, but there aren’t any. First one is from 2005, at my 16th birthday. I wore that jumper to death. The second picture is actually the summer I bought my first lolita (well, “lol ita”) clothes. It’s from 2008, during all the Beijing Olympic celebrations in Hong Kong.

So after we met the Pasty Pirate, we continued on with our shopping. We were looking for some accessories and pieces for when we twin our Gertrude JSKs. I’m insanely excited about this!

Finally, we headed to McDonalds. I had a strawberry and banana smoothie, and Rachel had fries (that I totally stole) and the most delicious iced caramel frappe.

Rai made one of our pics really sparkly and pretty while we were in McDonalds. I took a sneaky picture of her while she was editing it.

Overall, it’s been a fantastic day! I really enjoyed spending some girly time with Rai. Can’t wait for the next time!

Day 11 – One day in your lolita life in pictures.

I met up with Rachel today! I had work all morning, but we met up afterwards for coffee and shopping. I wore Krad Lanrete’s Mozarabic Chant JSKand Rai wore Innocent World’s Gertrude JSK.

So we started off at Harvest Moon café. It’s a quirky little place and the staff there are absolutely lovely! They have such good customer service and really delicious coffee. I had vegetarian chilli and Rai had a bagel with bananas and cinnamon. We both had a San Luca coffee, which has caramel undertones. Very delicious!

After that lovely start, we headed off to do some shopping (despite the rain) and on the way out, we met the Pasty Pirate!

Day 10 - What’s in your bag?

So basically, this is my generic daily bag. My lolita bag doesn’t differ massively, other than maybe a bit more make up and a contact lens case if I’m wearing circle lenses.

Anyways, the bag itself was a gift from one of my uni friends, and he got it while he was in Japan. It’s just a schoolbag, but I love it because it can carry a lot, it’s a perfect size for me, and most importantly, it has zippers to close it so I feel it’s secure. The little bear charm clipped on was a Christmas present from Rachel, and he lives on my bag forever because I love him.

Onto the contents!

Pile of receipts/vouchers. This is really clear for me, I’m such a hoarder my bag is usually filled with receipts.
Lady products tin. To keep some emergency lady products in but prevents them from getting squashed and gross at the bottom of my bag.
Penguin purse. This was a Christmas present from my parents. It’s currently filled with more receipts and a ton of cards (not even money cards, we’re talking point cards for coffee shops and Boots).
Super Lactase tablets. I’m lactose intolerant so these live in my bag all the time, since I tend to forget them otherwise. They’re so good!
Aranzi Aronzo travel card holder, which is holding my Oyster card and my Young Persons railcard. Aranzi Aronzo is my favourites! I love them.
Lipgloss/Lipstick/Lip balm. I’m not even sure why the lipstick is in my bag at the moment. It’s probably from when I met up with my friend on Saturday. The lip balm is from the Body Shop’s Vitamin E range and I honestly can’t live without this!
Nail polish. Clear nail strengthener and Barry M’s Gelly nail paint in Prickly Pear (although I find this weird, because all the prickly pear stuff I’ve seen is pinky red…)
Hair tie and flower clip. I always put hair ties in my bags, so I always have at least one on me. The flower clip is just one I had on yesterday and took off when it started raining.
Squirrel umbrella. Because it’s been raining really badly lately. Which sucks.
Strawberry bag. It’s a little fold up re-useable bag! Sometimes this isn’t in my bag though, because my cat loves it and she tends to take it out to play with. Which is rubbish when you come to use it and it’s not there anymore!
Kikkoman pen. Can I just say this is a really comfy pen to write wtih.
2 packets of tissues. One is from JList and was from the same person who got me the bag, and the other is just a normal packet of tissues.
Really old iPod Classic & headphones. My iPod is so battered now, but it works as well as a new one so I’m not going to replace it any time soon. I’ve had it for years.

Also my iPhone is usually in there but I’m using it to take the pictures since I can’t find my camera right now. So yup! That’s my really boring bag.

Day 9 – 10 things you will never do in lolita.

Be rude to people, even though they’re rude to me. It’s better to be the bigger person and just ignore people laughing or making stupid comments.
Forget to wear a petticoat. I love the poofy skirts in lolita. Even if it’s a flatter petticoat in a casual outfit. I even wear a petticoat when I’m in a wheelchair!
Eat messy food. I don’t want to risk spilling things all over my clothes, especially when some of them can be difficult to clean.
Sunbathing. You would only get a really tanned face, everything else is covered.
Gardening. Grass stains are hard to get out.
Change the oil in a car. Oil stains are really really hard to get out.
Mountain climbing. I think my petticoats would push me off the rockface. And no way could I get a harness on properly.
Paintballing. Although all the layers would protect you from the pain of being shot, it’s messy and doing crazy rolls would be really difficult. Plus you can’t really hide as easily.
Deep sea diving. I’m pretty sure petticoats would cause you to float upwards. And you’d look like a jellyfish and might get eaten by a sea turtle.
Mud wrestling. You definitely don’t want to wear an outfit that can be grabbed so easily, as well as have it be ruined by all the icky mud!
